Q:  What do I need to bring to class?

A:  .  We have complimentary towels, so no need to bring your own.  You should always bring a water bottle to class, because you’ll need to replace all that sweat!    We have a water fountain where you can fill your bottle,  or you can purchase a bottle of water on site.  Other than that… just bring your willingness to work hard.

Q: I’ve heard your classes as hard!  What if I am not fit enough?

A:  The great thing about  the cycling classes is that you ultimately control the intensity.  You can add resistance or take off some resistance any time you want.   If you need to stand up and stretch even though the instructor is doing a seated drill, that’s just fine.  This is your workout!  If you  the thought of being on the bike for an hour scares you, check out  Cy-Core class.  30 minutes of cycling  followed by 30 minutes of  core centered Yoga or mat Pilates.

Q:  How should I dress for class?

A:We recommend cycling shoes, but good old athletic shoes will do.  A cycling jersey or a t-shirt made of  wicking material will make your indoor cycling experience much more pleasant.   We also suggest you get a nice pair of cycling shorts… they can make all the difference in the world.

Q:  What kind of pedals do you use?  Can I bring my own?

A:  We have  pedals that will accept SPD mountain bike  and Look Delta cleats.  These are the older style look cleats.  If you have Look Keo style pedals and cleats, they will not work.   We also have clips and straps so you can wear good old athletic shoes.  We will also help you change  out your own pedals if you show up early.  However, if you are going to come to class frequently,  we reccomend that you  get an extra pair of shoes with some  SPD or Look Delta cleats.  It’s just easier for everyone.  If you didn’t understand any of what I just said, just bring your good old athletic shoes!

Q: Where do I park?

A: Park in the garage 2 doors down.  Bring in your ticket and we will validate it for you.

Q:  Do you have showers?

A: We have  Men’s and Women’s locker rooms with showers and day use lockers.

Q:  What kind of saddles\seats do you use on your bikes?

A:  We use Saris bicycle saddles, most people find them quite comfortable.  We recommend that you get yourself a nice pair of cycling shorts, it will make your ride much more pleasant.  We also have several women’s specific saddles, that are sometimes better  if you aren’t wearing cycling shorts.

Q:  Why do you call it “indoor cycling” rather than “spinning”.

A:  Spinning  and Spin classes are registered trademarks, like Coke, Kleenex, or Band Aid.  You can read more about that HERE.

Q: How do I register and pay for class?

A: Simply go to the Schedule page, look for the class you want, and then click on it.  You will have to create an account if you haven’t already done so.  Classes can be purchased individually, but the price becomes lower as you buy a larger pack of classes.    We love our online system.  It allows you to register for class in advance, so that you know there will be a bike waiting for you when class time comes around.  You don’t have to show up early just to make sure you have a bike to ride!
